Privacy notice
How we use your information
This notice explains how Newman Pharmacy uses the details you give us through this website.
Who we are
Newman Pharmacy is run by Gunatit Pharma Ltd, 82 Seaside, Eastbourne, East Sussex BN22 7QP. Gunatit Pharma Ltd is the data controller for information collected through this website. Contact us at support@newmanpharmacy.com or 01323 725860.
What we collect
When you use our call-back form we collect only:
- your name
- your phone number
- the service you're interested in
- your preferred day (optional)
Please don't send us medical information through the website. We don't use the website to take prescription requests — please use the NHS App or speak to us.
Why we use it
We use these details only to phone you back and arrange the service you asked about. We don't use them for marketing and we don't sell or share them with anyone else.
Our lawful basis
We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form, and on taking steps at your request before providing a service. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us.
Where it's held
Form submissions are received and stored by our website host, Netlify, which processes the data on our behalf under its data processing terms. Netlify may store data outside the UK; where it does, appropriate safeguards are in place.
How long we keep it
We keep your details only for as long as we need them to contact you and arrange your appointment, then we delete them from the website system.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct it
- ask us to delete it
- object to or restrict how we use it
- withdraw your consent at any time
To use any of these rights, email support@newmanpharmacy.com or call 01323 725860.
Complaints and feedback
If you send us feedback or a complaint (using our form, by email, phone, post or in person) we collect your name, contact details, whether you're the patient or acting for someone else, and what you tell us about what happened and the outcome you'd like.
- Purpose: to investigate and respond to your complaint, keep the records we're required to keep, and learn from it to improve our service.
- Lawful basis: for NHS services, legal obligation (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(c)), because we must handle complaints under the Local Authority Social Services and National Health Service Complaints (England) Regulations 2009 and our NHS pharmacy terms of service; for private services, our legitimate interests in resolving complaints (Article 6(1)(f)). [DPO to confirm]
- Health information: if your complaint includes health details, we process them under Article 9(2)(h) (provision of health care / management of health care services) with Data Protection Act 2018 Schedule 1 condition 2. [DPO to confirm]
- Who sees it: only the staff who need to handle your complaint. Complaint records are kept separately from your pharmacy records.
- How long we keep it: complaint case files are kept for 10 years from when the complaint is closed, in line with the NHS Records Management Code of Practice, then reviewed and securely destroyed. [DPO to confirm]
Cookies, fonts and tracking
- No analytics or tracking. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't set any cookies ourselves.
- Fonts are self-hosted. Our typeface is served from our own website, so loading a page doesn't send your details to Google or any other font provider.
- Theme preference. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved only in your own browser (localStorage). It is never sent to us, and you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Google Maps
The map on our contact section is not loaded unless you click "Show map". If you do, your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address and browser details and may set cookies. Google acts as an independent controller for that data under its own privacy policy. The "Get directions" link simply opens Google Maps in a new tab.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've used your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
